Minecraft Mods
Minecraft mods are unique features that modify your copy of Minecraft. First, I'm going to share some of my knowledge of how mods work, and then I'll tell you how to install them (for Mac only).
Before you download and install any mods, I suggest you download and install Forge.
Forge is safe and commonly used to help download mods.
Warning: have caution when using mods
Of course, there's always some caution you need to have when doing these sorts of things. Mods have a chance of damaging your copy of Minecraft, mods simply add features to your Minecraft game, and may damage your Minecraft game.
Now, to the fun stuff.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL MODS
(P.S. Don't have Minecraft open until your mod is installed)
Find the mod you would like on a safe site! Avoid getting computer viruses.
Click the download button. This normally takes you to adfly. Wait for the button in the top right corner to say 'SKIP AD' and click that button.
Wait for your mod to download
Drag your file to your desktop
Click the desktop background and click 'Go' in the top bar.
Click 'Go to Folder'
Type ~/Library in the box
Click 'Go'
Double click the 'Application Support folder'
Double click the 'Minecraft' folder
Double click the 'mods' folder (there should be one, if not; create one by right clicking your desktop background and clicking 'New Folder'
Drag your file into that folder
Open Minecraft Launcher, go to the 'Profile' bar where you chose your profile
(I use the Forge profile, which helps run my mods)
Make sure you switch to that version your mod(s) are in with the Forge version selected.
Launch Minecraft
It should say however many mods you have installed on the title screen somewhere.
You can see which mods are installed by clicking the 'Mods' bar that is there (all of those options will be there if the mods are installed successfully, if not, something went wrong with the installation, etc.
I suggest using mods only for Singleplayer worlds, so only you can see them. Some servers may not support these mods, and other players who don't have the mod can't see the items in your mod, so then what's the point?
I personally like to use mods on maps I've downloaded from trusted sites on the internet. I love goofing around and exploring with maps and mods!
There are all sorts of fun mods out there!
Have fun!
