So, you may or may not know some of the basics. The following info will be about creative mode and survival mode.
Creative mode
Creative mode is a type of playing mode where you cannot die, you can fly, you have unlimited resources and more! You can put your imagination to the test and make some really cool structures like the house on the right.
Now, let's take the challenge of survival mode! Survival mode is more challenging than creative, of course. You have to get your own resources for all the things to make. First, find some trees that you can chop down. Then you can make planks out of the raw wood in your inventory. With four planks of wood, you can make a crafting table which is the key to making all resources! First, you may need to make a wooden axe to chop down more trees to get more resources and tools. The crafting recipe for a wooden axe is shown on the left. To make the sticks for the handle of your axe, place two wooden planks directly on top of each other in the crafting table. Once you've gathered more wood, you can make more tools. Pictured on the left are crafting recipes for other basic wooden tools you will need. A wooden hoe, shovel, and pickaxe, in addition with the axe. The hoe is used to plant crops. You use this tool on grass, and plant in any seed, potatoes, carrots, etc. After this you must wait until your crops are fully grown to harvest them to eat.
The shovel is used to break grass blocks faster than just using your hand. Next, pickaxes are used to break stone, which when mined without a silk touch pickaxe, turns into cobble and you will pick it up in your
inventory. When you do not have a pickaxe and you're using your fist, it takes a long time to break the stone block, and you don't get the block. This is why pickaxes are important. But that is just one of many reasons.
Lastly, we have the wooden sword. When the night falls and the monsters come to play, this is a must. This sword protects you from dying or being harmed by various mobs who spawn in the overworld. You'll feel much more safe if you don't have shelter, but you have a sword! But, you will soon have to build yourself a shelter to be safe, cook, and store your items! Armor, the next section, is also needed in combat.

In single player mode, your world is unlimited and you can do anything you want! If you want
to let your friends join, you can all connect to a server, which I will write about on this blog as well.
